fEZZik has been keenly interested in all things music his whole life, and while starting out learning a variety of instruments; such as drums, guitar, bass, piano, various ethic instruments; his interest in electronic music started with 1990’s synth-pop. During this time he acquired a 1970s era analog synthesizer, which turned his musical interest in an electronic direction, and began his life-long obsession with “good bass sounds”.
He’s been involved in the dance music scene in some form for more than a decade. After purchasing a pair of turntables he would frequent local record stores, where he was drawn to the house, techno and early electro sounds that were taking over the local music scene in Toronto, Canada. While establishing himself as a local DJ – playing at small clubs and house parties – he found himself part of a new movement of promoters, artists and djs who would combine their faith and love of electric music to put on “clean parties” within the local scene, as well as doing extended live performances of electronic ambient music as a part of prayer vigils and worship events. This path has ultimately led to his current situation of co-leading HEAT, which is becoming one of the top rave-promotion groups in Ottawa, Canada – known for its non-sketchy positive parties and amazing decor! His recent activities include playing opening DJ sets for popular artists Manafest and Disciple, and is currently working with a growing communications company as a producer and sound engineer, while hosting a monthly podcast in his spare time.
Currently his production style combines aspects of many genres, combined with a love of catchy rhythms and grooves that give his music an unmistakable uniqueness. He’s dedicated to producing music that creates a positive atmosphere and uplifts those who listen to it. “In a sea of music where everyone is vying for the attention of your ears, as much as I want people to like my music, I would rather them know that my music likes them!”
